VZL was a one off live in the studio collaboration between V., Zanstones and Lampshade. Each person was supposed to create their own mix of the session, resulting in four different interpretations. Only two were completed. This is the Zanstones mix, which is pretty close to a linear interpretation-the jam as it happened. Compare it with the JRX version which is a radical deconstruction of the material.

Satie was originally released bt Watergate Tapes in 1987 as a 90 minute cassette. It features two live performances, the first being at the East Side Club (now defunkt) in Washington DC. The last 2 tracks are from a radio performance on WMUC-FM 88.1 College Park, MD from July 1987. In between these tracks are several rehearsal recordings made a week before the East side club appreance. VZL was a one-off live studio collaboration between v., Zan Hoffman and Lampshade. Instead of releasing one mix of the recording, it was decided that each participant would do their own mix, creating 4 separate interpretations. Only the first 2 mixes were ever completed. This is the second version, a radical deconstruction of the material by Jeff Surak (v.). The instruments were bass guitar, drums, home instruments, type writer, toaster, and sampler.

Adam Bohman returns for a short appearance on one track. The second half is a live duet between Zan Hoffman and Jeff Surak on prepared violin and drawer.

Six Girls was originally released in 1988 by Watergate Tapes as a 60 minute cassette. It was re-released as a CDR by Staalplaat's Bake Records imprint in 2000. It was remastered from a third generation tape copy, thus restoring the intended poor quality of this recording. Things that appear to be loops, but not quite, are actually tracks composed of infinite micro changes in tempo and timbre.

This 1987 recording by -1348- was an indirect homage to Dziga Vertov. Recorded with the utmost minimal setup-just a casio sk-1 and Boss sampler delay pedal straight to cassette deck. The original 90 minute tape was edited down to 60 minutes and re-released by Staalplaat's Bake Records imprint in 1999. Lofi industrial loops and rhythms.
